Again. Dr Ward was nice. The hell that was the epilepsy center was actual psychological torture and would only wish it on my abusers

This appointment was greatly anticipated. I've been desperate and suffering tremendously for four years with no help. But after seeing dr. Ward, I finally feel hope for my condition. She was the very first seizure specialist I've ever had who took me seriously, listened, and included me in care decisions. She was thorough and kind and believed me. I Can count on one hand how many doctors I trust to help me and dr. Ward is one of them. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this appointment saved me and how much it meant to me and my partner. We both just sat in the car and cried in relief. I have a chance now. Truly, thank you.

Dr. Ward came to Hartford HealthCare from Intermountain Medical Center in Utah, where she was an epileptologist in the Neurosciences Department. Her areas of clinical interest include refractory epilepsy; neuromodulation of epilepsy; dietary therapy and medical cannabis to assist medical therapy; and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES).

Dr. Ward is a graduate of Mt. Allison University in Canada, and earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas. She completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in neurology at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship in epilepsy at the University of Michigan.

Board-certified in epilepsy and neurology, Dr. Ward has an impressive research resume, including studies into the effect of neurostimulation implants on epilepsy, and seizures as a predictor of brain tumor progression. She has also given presentations and written guidance for providers on the use of medical cannabis with patients who have epilepsy.

Dr. Ward is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, American Academy of Neurology and American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
