A Randomized Phase III, Two-Arm Trial of Paclitaxel/Carboplatin/Maintenance Letrozole Versus Letrozole Monotherapy in Patients with Stage II-IV, Primary Low-Grade Serous Carcinoma of the Ovary or Peritoneum
Despite differences in low grade vs. high grade serous carcinoma, patients have been treated identically for both. There is a clear need to improve quality of life outcomes for those with primary, metastatic low grade serous carcinoma without compromising cancer outcomes.
Criteria:
- Newly diagnosed, Stage II-IV low-grade serous ovarian cancer
- Undergone a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy
- Able to take oral medications
- Patients with severe cardiac disease, known CNS metastases, active systemic infection, neuropathy of grade 2 or worse, and HIV infected patients with detectable viral load are NOT ELIGIBLE
