Yoga has strong beneficial effects on general quality of life, emotional function, and social function.
For people with particular health concerns – such as cancer – yoga can be particularly helpful.
In fact, one clinical trial found that memory difficulty was reduced for participants of a yoga for cancer survivors program.
Yoga can reduce anxiety and improve mental health in lung cancer patients.
It can also reduce sleep disturbances and improve physical health in patients’ family caregivers.
Yoga can reduce menopausal symptoms, fatigue, and improve quality of life in breast cancer survivors.
For older patients with breast cancer, yoga can help diminish depression, pain, and fatigue.
It also helps patients perform daily and routine activities, and increases the quality of life.
