About the Program
The HHC BJI Administrative Fellowship is a 1-year, project-based program that provides one chosen Fellow with an exceptional opportunity for professional development and personal growth. The program is structured with projects that mirror the constantly changing healthcare environment. The Fellow will lead high-profile projects within the institute, while simultaneously contributing valuable work to many organizational initiatives through partnering with BJI Senior Executive Leadership. The Fellow is able to gain hands-on experience in projects that include quality, operations, performance excellence, planning and business development, marketing, finance, and DEI.
Led by preceptors Stacey Lombardi, Vice President of Operations at the Bone & Joint Institute, and Dr. Michael Miranda, interim Physician-in-Chief at the Bone & Joint Institute, the BJI Administrative Fellowship is supported by Hartford HealthCare’s System Administrative Fellowship Program, meaning all Fellows are integrated into a single cohort and granted the same opportunities.
All Fellows are able to attend HHC Leadership Forums, HHC State of the System, HHC Executive Leadership Team meetings, Leadership Roundtables, and a conference of Fellow’s choosing. They also benefit from ongoing executive coaching through HHC’s Leadership Development Institute, tours of HHC’s many facilities, 1:1 “Meet & Greets” with leaders across the system, and a designated Fellow mentor. The BJI Fellow is uniquely able to attend Weekly BJI Executive Leadership Meetings, BJI staff huddles, and Regional Executive Leadership Team meetings.

Opened in 2017, Hartford HealthCare’s state-of-the-art Bone & Joint Institute is Connecticut’s first and only orthopedic hospital. Meet the Preceptors
Dr. Michael Miranda
Interim Physician-in-Chief, Bone & Joint Institute
Dr. Michael Miranda is a premier orthopedic surgeon specializing in trauma, reconstruction, and complex fractures. He has served as the interim Physician-in-Chief at the Bone & Joint Institute (BJI) since May of 2024. Working collaboratively with healthcare providers and administration, he is inspired to focus his efforts on promoting high-quality, efficient care, while expanding BJI’s national presence. His vision is to create an environment of consistent improvement to deliver the best musculoskeletal care for our patients. |
Stacey A. Lombardi, MBA, CCRP
Vice President of Operations, Bone & Joint Institute
In her role as Vice President, Stacey partners with physician leaders to improve the quality of care provided to Bone & Joint Institute patients. She serves as administrator for the Institute, focusing her work on program and business development, clinical integration, and efficient operations. She joined Hartford HealthCare in 2017, and brings over a decade of experience in the field of orthopedic service line management. Prior to her role at the Bone & Joint Institute, she served as the Director of Finance and Administration for the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale University.

How to Apply
Applicants must graduate prior to the start of the fellowship (June, 2025). Eligible applicants are graduates of an accredited CAMHE or equivalent master’s degree program. We do not sponsor visas for this program.

Meet the Fellows
Jocelyn is originally from Cape Coral, Florida and received her bachelor’s degree in Community Health and Economics from Tufts University. During her undergraduate studies, Jocelyn interned at two federally qualified health centers and decided to pursue a Master of Public Health at Boston University School of Public Health. In 2023, Jocelyn interned at Moderna within Medical Affairs and completed an Operations Co-Op at Vaxess Technologies. Her interests include equity and access to quality care, operations, patient experience, and strategy.
Khaled is from Tampa, Florida where he obtained his bachelor's degree in marketing. While completing his undergraduate studies, he worked in revenue cycle management for multiple clinics. Subsequently, Khaled chose the University of Michigan to be his home for two years of his life while he earned his Master's in Health Services Administration. During the summer of 2022, Khaled interned in one of Florida’s largest health systems. He served as a process improvement, clinical quality, and accreditation intern. His interests include process improvement, operations, finance, human experience, DEI, and innovation.
Chris is from Miami, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing at Florida State University in 2018 and worked in technology sales before deciding to pursue a career in healthcare administration. He will graduate with a Master of Health Administration degree from the George Washington University upon completion of his Administrative Fellowship, having finished the didactic component of his degree program. In graduate school, Chris served as the President of the GW MHA Student Association and worked as a Graduate TA. Prior to his Fellowship, Chris interned at Children’s National Hospital within the Information Resources department. His interests include business operations, strategy, patient experience, and community health.
