Volunteers wanted for research study examining the effects of study drug on cholesterol levels

The Preventive Cardiology Department is conducting a research study to examine the effects of a study drug (ETC-1002) on cholesterol levels in people currently taking statins. To volunteer you must be: A male or female between 18 and 80 years of age, currently taking a daily dose of a statin medication, willing to have blood drawn and have an LDL-C level between 115 and 220, able to come to Hartford Hospital for study visits, post-menopausal or surgically sterile (if female), and willing to use birth control or have had a vasectomy (if male).
