At the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, clinical research is fully integrated into the personalized, coordinated, evidence-based care we deliver.
Innovation is in our DNA and cancer care is no exception.
Part of offering world-class cancer care close to home is connecting patients with cutting-edge, novel therapies and treatments for their cancer. In collaboration with our partner, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, one of the nation’s top cancer centers, we provide access to clinical trials for most types of cancer and in treatment modalities such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation.
At the Cancer Institute, we believe high-quality cancer care and research are inextricably linked. In addition to clinical trials seeking to bring promising cancer treatments to today’s patients, our physician-scientists undertake research studies that seek to improve:
- Health equity
- Early diagnosis of cancer through screening and detection
- Identification of prognostic and predictive markers
- Quality of life
- Supportive care
- Exercise and diet
- Delivery of cancer care
Every cancer treatment we have today began as a clinical trial. For some patients, a clinical trial may be the best treatment option available and participation will help advance cancer care for generations to come.
