Drawing on the unique institute structure of Ayer, the Epilepsy Center specialists take a broad view of each person’s individual situation, consulting with other epilepsy and seizure experts, surgeons, neurologists and others from a variety of backgrounds to pinpoint the cause of the seizures and identify the best solution.
When it comes to seizures, knowing exactly what is going on is key to forming the most effective treatment plan. Sixty percent of the people who come in for care will have epilepsy. Many can be managed with medication. Others will require surgery.
As one of the state’s two Level Four epilepsy centers, we provide comprehensive care in several locations statewide. Our providers are hands-on and understand the fear patients often feel due to their epilepsy and seizures. The goal is to tailor care to each patient’s specific needs, and to get patients to the highest level of independence possible.
