The Ayer Neuroscience Institute is proud to offer two FDA-approved treatment options for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. These therapies are monoclonal antibodies that work by targeting and reducing amyloid plaques in the brain—abnormal protein deposits associated with the progression of Alzheimer’s. By addressing this underlying pathology, the treatments may help slow cognitive decline and support the preservation of memory, thinking, and functional independence.
These therapies are intended for patients diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to Alzheimer’s Disease or Mild Alzheimer’s dementia. One treatment is administered via intravenous infusion every two weeks, while the other is provided every four weeks.
Although not a cure, these therapies represent a major advancement in the management of Alzheimer’s disease and offer new hope for modifying its progression. As with any medical treatment, there are potential risks, including infusion-related reactions and other side effects. Patients will be closely monitored throughout the treatment process to ensure safety and address any concerns promptly.
