Exercise-induced asthma is fairly common in athletes, especially if you train or perform in the cold air of New England.
Exercise-induced asthma affects 70 to 90 percent of people with asthma and 10 percent of people without it.
An asthma attack happens when breathing becomes difficult for a short time and is sometimes accompanied by wheezing, coughing and tightness in the chest. When this happens during or after exercise, it is known as exercise-induced asthma or exercise-induced bronchospasm.
