Our world-class assessment center allows us to work with each patient to build a network of support that modifies risk factors to move towards optimal health.
A complete assessment is done that looks at your risk factors, including:
- Behavioral health
- Cardiovascular health
- Diabetes
- Nutritional assessment and body weight analysis
- Opioid use
- Smoking
You may also receive injury prevention screenings, such as:
- Osteoporosis
- Fall risk
- ACL injury prevention
How would an assessment work?
A patient might come to us in preparation for a joint replacement surgery, but may need to lose some weight to reduce the surgical risk prior to undergoing a surgical procedure. Our team works with the medical weight-loss experts and/or surgical weight-loss specialists to design a plan to meet the patient’s individual goals around weight loss.
Many people who are trying to lose weight can also run into foot and ankle pain and even injuries, this can reduce the ability to “mobilize or move” to reduce weight. So we have created a Fitness Center within the Center for Musculoskeletal Health to help patients increase their mobility. This same individual could also partner with the team in our Demonstration Kitchen to learn hands-on skills to prepare low-fat, low inflammatory meals in their homes. The goal is ease-of-doing-business for our patients in a one-stop facility.
