Q: What is urgent care?
A: It is, as the name suggests, a treatment center that provides ambulatory care to people requiring immediate care. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 9-1-1 or go directly to our nearest emergency services location.
Q: What qualifies as urgent?
A: A few examples:
- Cuts, scrapes, wounds and lacerations
- Sprains, strains
- Minor fractures and dislocations
- Broken bones
- Minor burns
- Rashes and insect bites
- Abscess, boils
- Allergic reactions
- Fever
- Dehydration requiring oral hydration
- Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and stomach flu
- Congestion and upper respiratory infections
- Cough, cold and flu
- Migraines, headaches
- Bronchitis, wheezing and asthma attacks
- Ear infections, earaches and foreign body removal
- Corneal abrasions Nose bleeds (packing available)
- Sore throat, strep throat
- Pink eye
- Urinary tract infections
Q: And if it’s not urgent?
A: You’ve still come to the right place. Urgent care also offers:
- Flu shots
- Routine and travel immunizations

- Cholesterol, diabetes and thyroid screening
- Diagnostic services, including X-Rays and laboratory tests

- School, sport and camp physical exams

Q: Will my medical insurance cover the visit?
A: We won’t know until we see your insurance card. Make sure to bring it with you.
Q: What else should I bring to your urgent care locations?
A: Always keep a list of prescription medications you’re taking, including dosages. Also list any over-the-counter medications and vitamins. Our physicians want to make sure that any treatment they prescribe will not interact with any of your current medications or vitamins. Please let us know of any allergies, including to potential allergic reactions to certain medications. If you’ve had surgery or other invasive procedures, provide the dates and the surgeon (or physician). This information gives our physicians a medical snapshot for the best possible treatment options.
