We approach each person’s care with their uniqueness in mind, and work with them to devise the most effective care plan.
We call wounds that don’t heal “problem wounds” because they are health risks. This is especially true for people with diabetes, a disease that can cause nerve and circulation damage that limits the ability to feel cuts or sores on the feet and the body’s ability to heal those sores. Cancer, peripheral vascular disease, obesity, spinal cord injuries and limited mobility can also cause problem wounds.
If left untreated, these can lead to infections that can cause damage to tissue and bone. In some cases, amputation may be necessary.
We treat patients with the following wound issues:
- Arterial, diabetic, ischemic, neuropathic or pressure ulcers
- Edema
- Venous insufficiency
- Traumatic, radiation or surgical wounds
- Pressure sores
- Vasculitis
- Burns
- Delayed radiation-related tissue and bone damage
- Other chronic, non-healing wounds
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy might help patients with:
- Severe diabetic foot ulcers
- Soft tissue radionecrosis and osteoradionecrosis
- Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
- Compromised skin grafts and flaps
- Refractory actinomycosis
- Crush injury and compartment syndrome
- Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia
- Progressive necrotizing infection/fascitis
- Acute peripheral arterial insufficiency
- Acute carbon monoxide intoxication
- Cyanide poisoning
- Decompression illness
- Gas or air embolism
- Gas gangrene
