Yes, Arthritis Can Happen to Anyone (Ask This Exercise Physiologist)
November 25, 2020
The older you get, the more likely you will have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. More than 29 percent of people from 45 to 64 years old, and close to 50 percent age 65 and older, experience the joint swelling or tenderness of arthritis.
But even some younger people, 18 to 44 years old, can’t avoid arthritis: more than 7 percent know what it feels like.
So how do you avoid getting arthritis? If you get no physical activity, you’re much more likely to have arthritis. Your diet is also a factor.
If you or someone you know might be vulnerable to arthritis, find out more from Evan Gross, an exercise physiologist with Hartford HealthCare’s GoodLife Fitness, in a free webinar Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. He’ll answer all your questions after the presentation.
