Webinars: Foot, Ankle, Knee, Elbow, Shoulder & Neck Pain and Injuries

April 27, 2021

Hartford HealthCare’s team of orthopedic surgeons in Eastern Connecticut understands that folks are emerging from a combination of traditional winter hibernation and pandemic isolation, and the related increase in activities like yard work, golf, tennis and hiking might have their joints complaining.

For this reason, the team has put together a series of virtual community education sessions to help people understand the difference between “Oh, I’m sore” and “Oh, I think I need to see a doctor.”

“There are a few factors at play here,” said Jason Reese, Director of Operations for Orthopedics at Backus Hospital. “During the pandemic, many people who were novice hikers, cyclists, and runners sustained injuries but were hesitant to seek treatment. And now that it’s Spring, people are back in their yards, on the golf courses and tennis courts, and hitting the trails. We want to make sure the public is educated on those aches and pains they might be feeling, and when it’s time to seek professional help.”
