Center for Healthy Aging And GoodLife Fitness Open In Bloomfield

A ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging and GoodLife Fitness was held with the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 4. These two programs are among the multiple health services and specialties available at the Hartford HealthCare Family Health Center located at 2 Northwestern Drive.
Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging, a not-for-profit member of Hartford HealthCare Senior Services, is a resource and assessment center designed to enhance access to services and information related to attaining optimal quality of life for seniors and their caregivers. Amina Weiland, CDP, CDCP, dementia specialist, is the primary resource coordinator at the Bloomfield location. Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging has seven additional locations in Connecticut.
GoodLife Fitness is an individualized exercise program geared toward the older adult to build energy, strength and endurance for an active lifestyle. An exercise physiologist works one-to-one with each person to improve muscular strength, balance, cardiovascular health and self-esteem, while reducing the risk of falls and injuries. Aaron Russ, MS, CSCS, is the primary exercise physiologist at this location. GoodLife Fitness has five additional locations in central Connecticut.
Hartford HealthCare Family Health Center, which opened last fall, also includes Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, Hartford Hospital Rehabilitation Network and Hartford HealthCare at Home.
