Help us understand
At your first appointment, it’s important that your medical team understands your seizures. We ask that you bring any test results, videos of a seizure or medical information from other providers, including your primary care provider.
Please also think about the following questions, which we will ask at the first visit:
- When did your seizures start?
- What happens before your seizures –is there a trigger like sleep deprivation or menstruation? Do you experience a warning or aura before one starts?
- What happens during your seizures? Do you experience incontinence or tongue bites?
- What happens after your seizures? Are you confused?
- How often do you have seizures?
- Do you have a family history of epilepsy?
- Have you had a head injury, dementia, brain infection or vascular disease?
- Do you have trouble sleeping or with depression or anxiety?
On the day of your visit, please arrive at least 30 minutes early so you can fill out our consent formand other documents. If you must reschedule, we ask that you call at least 24 hours in advance.
