Internal Funding Opportunities

Hartford HealthCare
2024 Medical Staff Research Funding Program
Request for Letters of Intent

We are pleased to announce research funding opportunities made possible by the Medical Staff of Hartford HealthCare hospitals. We expect that most grant budgets will not exceed of $10,000.  Please request only the minimum implementation costs needed.  Any Medical Staff member affiliated with an HHC entity is eligible.

The project funding aims to support innovative studies that have the potential to lead to follow up external grant applications and the dissemination of study results in peer reviewed publications and national or international presentations.

We will use a letter of intent (LOI) process for the determination of projects selected for full proposal submission. The LOIs are due by January 29th, 2024.
Click here for the LOI template

LOIs will primarily be evaluated on clinical/research significance and feasibility with less emphasis on specific methodology.  However, after the initial screening, selected projects will need to include a well-developed study design and plan for statistical analysis as part of the full application. We encourage investigators to consult with their department’s designated senior scientist or department research support to help frame their research questions.  This program is intended to support research as opposed to clinical quality improvement projects.  Invitations for full proposals will be sent in March, 2024 with an anticipated May, 2024 due date.

We look forward to working with Hartford HealthCare investigators to make this funding opportunity a success.

Sincerely,
