CITI Training - Basic
As part of our institutional goal of maintaining training within the research community and promoting an organizational culture that encourages integrity and compliance at Hartford HealthCare, the Human Research Protections Program (HRPP) has adopted the web-based modules within the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) for certification in Human Subject Protection (HSP). These web-based modules are available at https://www.citiprogram.org/.

CITI Conflict of Interest (COI)
The CITI Conflict of Interest (COI) course is a separate course from the Basic/Refresher Course. All HHC investigators must complete mandatory conflict of interest (COI) in research training every 4 years through the CITI Program.
COI Instructions
Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) in Research
It is Hartford HealthCare’s (HHC) policy to preserve the integrity and quality of research at HHC and to maintain public trust in our scientific endeavors by managing actual or perceived conflicts of interest in the conduct of research. Therefore, all significant financial interests in regards to an investigator’s institutional responsibilities need to be disclosed, reviewed and managed in accordance with the HHC Financial Conflict of Interest in Research Policy.

We highly encourage everyone to PRINT your completion certificate when you finish the course, keep a copy for your personal records, and give a copy to any study coordinators that may be managing the regulatory aspects of your research activities. It is very time consuming for HRPP staff to provide copies and takes away from time attending to other aspects of protocol reviews.
Informed Consent Training
In an effort to ensure compliance with the consent process, the Institution is now requiring Informed Consent Training for all staff new to conducting research at HHC. Pre-scheduled monthly trainings can be found here https://hartfordhealthcare.org/health-professionals/research/medical-professionals/research-education. Please RSVP to Pamela Johnson at Pamela.Johnson@hhchealth.org or 860.972.0141.
If you have a group of 5 or more that cannot attend any of these dates, please contact Pamela Johnson at least 3 weeks prior to when you would like the training to occur.
