As part of gender affirmation, some transgender patients opt for plastic surgery to reshape their face.
The Gender Health Center works with craniofacial and plastic surgeons who can help with such procedures as:
- Forehead reconstruction, including forehead setback or adjustment of the brow bone, scalp advancement and hairline reconstruction.
- Cheek and/or lip augmentation.
- Chin, Adam’s apple and/or cheekbone reduction.
- Face, neck and/or brow lift.
- Surgery to the eyelids, nose and/or ears.
These procedures are available at Hartford and Backus hospitals.
