One nurse’s dedication to her field will help inspire new generations of nurses at The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC). Diane Ramy Faulconer’s $50,000 donation created the Diane Ramy Faulconer Scholars Program, providing scholarships so that HOCC nurses can pursue advanced degrees. To reinforce that goal, she has also made a planned gift to the hospital in her estate.
“I wanted HOCC to be one of the recipients of a charitable trust I established because of the quality of education I received,” says Diane, a New Britain native and 1961 graduate of the former New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing. The author of more than 35 articles in professional journals and the national membership committee chair of the Association of Operating Room Nurses, Diane is passionate about the future of her profession.
“I wanted to make scholarships available to those nurses committed to continuing their education; and hopefully HOCC will become a magnet hospital for nursing.”
Through Hartford HealthCare Giving, Diane connects her love of nursing to a legacy that will advance the profession—and patient care—far into the future.
